having put a Question to the Attorney-General for Ireland on behalf of an absent Unionist Member,

§ MR. CHERRY
said he had written to the hon. Gentleman asking him to postpone it.

§ MR. SWIFT MACNEILL
Is it proper for one hon. Member to ask a 1620 Question standing in the name of another unless he has authority to do so?

§ MR. SPEAKER
It is desirable that such Questions should only be asked on the request of the absent Member.
