HC Deb 08 July 1907 vol 177 cc1159-60
MR. MORTON (Sutherland)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will consider the advisability of introducing an Amendment of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1906, to secure that an employer shall not be liable when an accident is due to the workman's serious and wilful misconduct, if the injury results in death or serious and permanent disablement.

MR GLADSTONE

I see no reason to reopen this question, which was discussed and settled only last autumn. The new provision has only been one week in operation, and it would be premature to consider its amendment.
