HC Deb 08 July 1907 vol 177 cc1135-6
MR. SWIFT MACNEILL (Donegal, S.)

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will explain why in Egypt inland postal parcels, as likewise those arriving from foreign countries, are not delivered at the address of the consignee, but have to be fetched from the General Post Office unless an addititional fee for delivery is paid.

(Answered by Secretary Sir Edward Grey.) I am not aware of the fact or of the reason for it, but it is not considered desirable to interfere with the arrangements of the Egyptian Post Office, especially if a change advocated would involve increased expenditure.
