HC Deb 08 July 1907 vol 177 c1164
MR. CATHCART WASON

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether, in the event of effect being given to the Report of the Committee on Small Holdings that an annual grant be made to the Agricultural Organisation Society of England, he will endeavour to secure that an equivalent grant be made to the Scottish Agricultural Organisation Society, Limited.

THE TREASURER OF THE HOUSEHOLD (SIR EDWARD STRACEHEY, Somersetshire, S.)

Perhaps I may be allowed to answer this Question. We have already received an application from the Scottish Agricultural Organisation Society, Limited, for a grant, and we have promised to bear it in mind in the event of funds being placed at our disposal out of which such a grant could be made. There is, however, no prospect of our finding ourselves in a position to make a grant during the present financial year.
