HC Deb 04 July 1907 vol 177 c863
MR. J. M. ROBERTSON (, Tyneside) Northumberland

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the remark of Lord Cromer in his despatch of 8th March (Egypt No. 3, 1907), that he sees no objection to the presence of reporters at the meetings of the General Assembly and the Legislative Council of Egypt, and in view of the consensus of Egyptian opinion in favour of full publicity being given to the proceedings of both Chambers, any modification of the present law is in contemplation.

SIR EDWARD GREY

I am not aware that any modification of the present law on this point is in contemplation, or has been asked for.
