§ MR. BIRRELLI am not yet in a position to make any statement in this matter. The negotiations with the Midland Great Western Railway Company are still proceeding.
§ MR. CONOR O'KELLYasked whether pressure could not be exercised to secure a settlement.
§ MR. BIRRELLSaid no one was more anxious for a settlement than he was. An offer had been made to the Railway Company, and it was for that body to say whether or not they would accept it.
