I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can inform the House what stage the Japanese Government has now reached in the revision of its tariff, and upon what general principle the new tariff is to be arranged.

The revised Japanese tariff has been issued, and the text will be found in the Supplement to the Board of Trade Journal of June 14, 1906. It was to come into force on October 1st last.
