MITCHELL-THOMSON (Lancashire, N.W.)To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty what was the coal expenditure, actual or approximate, of the Navies of Great Britain, the United States, Germany, and France for the years 1900 to 1906 respectively; and what is the sum estimated for 1907 for Great Britain.
§ (Answered by Mr. Edmund Robertson). It is not considered in the interests of the public service to give any details of coal consumption in the British Navy. Neither France nor Germany publish any statement of the quantity of coal purchased annually.
