§ MR. HART-DAVIES (Hackney, N.)To ask the Postmaster-General whether he will take into consideration the claim of local postmasters to a complete holiday on Christmas Day.
(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I regret that the exigencies of the public service will not admit of a complete holiday being given to postmasters on Christmas Day, but for work performed on that day a compensating holiday is allowed to them under certain conditions.
