HC Deb 25 February 1907 vol 169 c1233
MR. WEIR

To ask the Secretary for Scotland, having regard to the fact that on the 25th June last the Secretary for Scotland stated that the water supply for eighteen schools in the Island of Lewis was defective, will he state whether it is to be understood that at that time water was not laid on to any of these schools; and will he name any of these schools to which water has now been laid on and the names of those schools which still have a defective supply.

(Answered by Mr. Sinclair.) Improvements have been made at Bragar and Valtos. I am not aware whether those contemplated at Crowlista and Leumerava have been carried out. With this qualification the medical authorities are satisfied that there is no danger to health from the arrangements for supplying water to the schools, which are as good as circumstances permit.
