HC Deb 20 February 1907 vol 169 cc827-8
MR. ROSE (Cambridgeshire, Newmarket)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether about 100 men of the 10th Hussars stationed at Rawul Pindi have been recommended by doctors to be invalided home and several more for a sea voyage, in consequence of the recent epidemic of fever in the regiment.

MR. HOBHOUSE

Perhaps I may be allowed to answer the question. The Secretary of State has no information enabling him to answer the hon. Member, but he will make inquiries from the Government of India.

MR. LEA (St. Pancras, E.)

Will the inquiry be made by cable?

MR. HOBHOUSE

Yes, I understand so.

MR. LEA

And in the event of these men being ill will steps be at once taken to send them to the hills or on a sea voyage?

MR. HOBHOUSE

We had better await the reply.
