HC Deb 20 February 1907 vol 169 cc820-1
MR. FETHERSTONHAUGH (Fermanagh, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners have received an application from Jabez Walmsley, Letterboy, Kesh, county Fermanagh, an evicted tenant on the Weir estate, for a holding; if so, have they made inquiry into his case; is the Weir estate at present being sold through the Land Commission; and have the Commissioners acquired, or are they about to acquire, any untenanted land on the Weir estate, or on any other estate in the neighbourhood of Kesh, that would be available for the provision of holdings for evicted tenants.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners have received an application from Jabez Walmsley for reinstatement in an evicted farm on the estate of W. S. Burnside, county Fermanagh, not the Weir estate. The Commissioners are having the application inquired into. No proceedings for the purchase of the Weir estate have been instituted by the Commissioners.
