§ SIR H. COTTONI beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether he is in a position to give any information regarding the submission of the Report on the separation of executive and judicial functions in India, called for from the Government of India in 1899 in consequence of a memorial on the subject, which was signed by the late Lord Hobhouse and other distinguished retired Members of the Indian Government.
§ MR. MORLEYI asked the Government of India in June last to let me have their conclusions on this important question as soon as possible. The consideration of the large mass of evidence that has been collected necessarily takes time, but I anticipate that the Government of India will before long be in a position to address me on the subject.
§ SIR H. COTTONHave the Government of India called for a fresh Report on this subject recently?
§ MR. MORLEYI cannot say, but I will inquire.
