HC Deb 27 August 1907 vol 182 c391
MR. FLAVIN

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether a complaint has been made by John Keeffe, of Kileade, a tenant on the Lindsay Talbot Crosbie estate, at Ardfert, to the Estates Commissioners about his land being flooded; whether an inspector has visited his farm; and, if so, whether the landlord or the Estates Commissioners have or will reduce the price in his purchase agreement which was only signed after a writ was served on him by the landlord for £117 12s. 8d.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners received a complaint from John Keeffe as to the flooding of his holding. The complaint was duly inquired into by an inspector who visited the land and reported on the matter. The Commissioners after due consideration sanctioned the advance applied for by the tenant, and the holding has since been vested in him. The Commissioners have no power to reduce the advance which has been made.
