MR. FIELD

To ask the Postmaster-General whether, seeing that it is a fact in Savings Bank circles that the percentages, or figures immediately leading thereto, of Irish deposits and withdrawals made through British deposit books, and vice versa, have been actually worked out in the Post Office Savings Bank for the year 1906, or for a certain quarter or quarters of 1906, he will now order the Controller of the Savings Bank to furnish these percentages for the last available year or quarter; and, if not, will he say whether the refusal to publish these percentages is owing to the fact that their publication would destroy the only pretext the Post Office can put forward against having the Irish accounts kept in Dublin.
