§ MR. REESTo ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the sanction will be accorded at an early date for the Manaar Railway and the two local lines considered necessary for opening up tea and rubber districts in Ceylon.
(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) The first step of course is the surveying of these lines, and this has been put in hand. The Secretary of State will of course reserve his final decision in each case until the results of the surveys are before him.
