HC Deb 26 August 1907 vol 182 cc168-9
LORD R. CECIL

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education what steps should have been taken by the managers of the Llanethian School in 1906 to obtain a teacher at the salary then offered by the local authority.

MR. McKENNA

One of the obstacles in the way of obtaining a teacher at the salary then offered was that the managers had not kept the teacher's house in good repair. I cannot, of course, state all the possible steps that the managers might have taken, but to remedy that particular state of things was certainly one of them.
