HC Deb 26 August 1907 vol 182 c173
MR. GULLAND (Dumfries Burghs)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware of the widespread disappointment in Scotland at the failure to pass the Education (Scotland) Bill; and whether he will reintroduce the Bill early next session and ensure its passage.

MR. SINCLAIR

The Government shares deeply in this disappointment; and while no pledge can be given at this moment, it is certainly my hope to reintroduce an Education Bill next session, which I trust may pass into law.

MR. GULLAND

Is it proposed to enact any of the provisions of the Bill by a minute of the Education Department?

MR. SINCLAIR

I have no present intention, but the matter is under consideration.
