HC Deb 15 August 1907 vol 180 cc1580-1
MR. MOLTENO (Dumfriesshire)

To ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction felt in Dumfriesshire at the employment of police constables as water bailiffs; and what action he proposes to take.

(Answered by Mr. Sinclair.) The Secretary for Scotland has no power to interfere in this matter. The constables employed as water bailiffs are "additional" constables paid by the district fishery boards, who make arrangements with the county council.
