§ MR. BARRIEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will ask the Commissioners of National Education to make arrangements whereby their codes and syllabuses will be laid upon the Table of the House of Commons for, say, one month before coming into operation.
§ MR. BIRRELLThe Commissioners of National Education inform me that it has never been the practice to place upon the Table of the House of Commons their codes and syllabuses, and that they see no reason for making a new departure in the matter.
§ MR. BIRRELLThey simply stated that it had never been their practice. I think, however, it would be a desirable thing if they were to do it.
§ MR. BARRIEWill the right hon. Gentleman make representations to the Commissioners to that effect?
§ MR. BIRRELLI will do my best to ingratiate myself with that body.
