§ MR. CLYNES (Manchester, N. E.)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether the Manchester Corporation have submitted to his Department new building bye-laws; whether he can state why they have not been confirmed; and is he aware that similar bye-laws have for some years been in force in Levensholme, a suburb of Manchester.
§ THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. JOHN BURNS,) BatterseaThe corporation 801 submitted the draft of bye-laws as to new streets and buildings to the Local Government Board, who returned it on the 15th June last for consideration of some notes and suggested alterations. The Board have not at present heard further on the subject. The draft differs in some respects from the bye-laws in force at Levenshulme. Moreover, since those bye-laws were made various modifications and improvements have been made in the Board's Model Series upon which they were founded.
