To ask the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to an advertisement of a Conservative fete and demonstration to be held in Inglewood Park, near Kintbury, on Saturday, 10th August, at which the band of the Berks Imperial Yeomanry is announced to perform; whether it is with the sanction of the War Office authorities that this band is to take part in a political demonstration; and, if not, whether he will take any, and what, action in the matter.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) My attention has been called to this matter. The arrangement has not received the sanction of the War Office, and action has been taken to prevent any breach of the regulations,
