HC Deb 06 August 1907 vol 179 c1818
MR. RIDSDALE (Brighton)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War if any surveyorsor assistant surveyors are acting as division officers, what extra remuneration they are receiving; and whether extra duty pay has been granted to some who are so acting, but not to all, and if so, why.

MR. HALDANE

Surveyors and assistant surveyors are liable, under the Regulations, to be employed without extra remuneration for short periods as division officers during the temporary absence of the latter or for other causes. In exceptional cases of prolonged employment as division officer, extra duty pay has occasionally been granted, each case being considered on its merits and determined according to the length of employment as division officer.
