HC Deb 06 August 1907 vol 179 cc1813-4
Mr. LUTTRELL (Devonshire, Tavistock)

To ask the President of the Local Government Board whether the Local Government Board have no jurisdiction with regard to the enforcement of bylaws with respect to the drainage of buildings; and, if so, whether he would take steps to give the Local Government Board such control.

(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) The Local Government Board have no power to enforce the observance of by-laws made by local authorities, and I doubt whether it would be practicable for them to exercise such powers if they possessed them.
