HC Deb 05 August 1907 vol 179 c1550
MR. MURPHY (Kerry, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if the estate of the late R. H. Orpon at Brewsterfield, county Kerry, is still under the Land Judge's Court; if not, has there been an agreement made for the sale to the Estates Commissioners; and will he direct the attention of the Estates Commissioners to the prices sought to be secured from Thomas Brosnan and some of the other tenants who were never allowed to have fair rents fixed.

MR. CHERRY

The Registrar of the Land Judge's Court informs me that the proceedings in that Court for the sale of the estate in question have been stayed in order that, if possible, a sale may be carried out through the Estates Commissioners. All the tenants except one have now signed agreements to purchase in the event of a sale to the Estates Commissioners. The matter has not yet come before the Commissioners, but if they should decide to acquire the property, they will have full opportunity of inquiring as to the terms upon which the tenants have agreed to purchase.
