HC Deb 30 April 1907 vol 173 c712
MR. BARRIE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland when he intends to introduce the Government proposals for Poor Law reform in Ireland.

MR. BIRRELL

I beg to refer to the Answer which I gave to a similar Question put by the hon. Member for North Kilkenny on the 5th of last month, namely, the Government deem it necessary to consider carefully the recommendations of the Viceregal Commission as a whole before undertaking the necessary legislation to give effect to them. This will occupy a considerable time, and I am therefore not in a position to make any definite statement in the matter.
