COLLINS (St. Pancras, W.)To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether an appointment to the medical officership to the British Embassy at Tokio was made in the early part of this year; if so, whether the vacancy was advertised; whether the gentleman appointed is a British subject; and, if not, whether he holds any medical qualification recognised as registerable by the General Medical Council.
(Answered by Secretary Sir Edward Grey.) There was no vacancy. The medical adviser to His Majesty's Embassy proceeded on leave, and made arrangements for a competent substitute to act during his absence.
