HC Deb 25 April 1907 vol 173 c256
MR. HUNT (Shropshire, Ludlow)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether the men who had been employed on the seventy coastguard stations, reported as having been done away with on 21st November, 1906, have been dismissed from the service; and, if so, what men are to fill their places as Reserve for the Royal Navy.

THE SECRETARY TO THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. EDMUND ROBERTSON, Dundee)

No men have been dismissed from the coastguard service in consequence of the abolition of the stations referred to.

MR. ASHLEY (Lancashire, Blackpool)

Then what has happened to the men?

MR. EDMUND ROBERTSON

They are still in the service.
