HC Deb 23 April 1907 vol 172 c1568
MR. WILKIE (Dundee)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the fact that a receipt for wages, even if over the amount of £2, does not require a stamp to be affixed, he will issue instructions that the custom of causing post office servants to so affix stamps to their wages receipts be discontinued in the future.

MR. SYDNEY BUXTOX

There is no foundation for the premiss that a receipt for wages of £2 or upwards is exempt from stamp duty.
