§ MR. HUNTI beg to ask the Prime Minister whether, except in matters of defence, the Press may be furnished every day with a report of the proceedings and debates of the present Conference, in order that the people of the Empire may know what is going on from day to day.

CAMPBELL-BANNERMANIt is entirely for the Conference itself to decide how far it will give publicity to its proceedings; and the existing arrangement of issuing oh each day of meeting a brief statement of what has passed was settled by it at the outset. The question as to complete publication of proceedings will be considered later.
§ MR. HUNTMay I ask if the Colonial Premiers abject to the debates on 1435 Preferential Imperial Trade being reported fully, and, if not, what did Lord Elgin mean by saying—
