HC Deb 19 April 1907 vol 172 c1264
MR. DOLAN (Leitrim, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners are proceeding with the arrangements for the sale of the Whyte estate, Newtown manor, county Leitrim; and, if so, what steps are being taken, an order for sale under Section 40 of The Land Act, 1903, having been made some months ago.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Land Judge has made an order for the sale of this estate, and the Estates Commissioners have lodged a request, under Section 7 of the Act of 1903, for particulars of the estate with a view to considering the question of purchase. I am informed that the title of the estate is very long and complicated, and as a result the Land Judge's Court will not be in a position to comply with the Estates Commissioners' request for several months to come.
