HC Deb 18 April 1907 vol 172 c1137
MR. JESSE COLLINGS (Birmingham, Bordesley)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies when the Paper referring to Sir Alexander Swettenham's resignation will be issued.

MR. CHURCHILL

The Paper will be presented immediately.

MR. JESSE COLLINGS

Will it include the letter of the American admiral to Sir Alexander Swettenham, as well as the latter's reply, and also—what is most important to the House and the public—the letter sent by the mayor to the admiral and the admiral's reply?

MR. CHURCHILL

I think the right hon. Gentleman had better await the publication of the Paper. In some respects it will fulfil his wishes, and in others it will fall short of them.
