REMNANT (Finsbury, Holborn)To ask the Secretary for Scotland whether the Church Commissioners have decided that all the Free Church property in Shettleston shall be allocated to the United Free Church; and whether, in view of the fact that there is a substantial Free Church congregation in the district who will be left without a place in which to worship, the Commissioners will consider the advisability of making some financial provision for the religious needs of this congregation.
(Answered by Mr. Sinclair.) I understand that the Church Commissioners have decided that the Free Church property in Shettleston must be allocated to the United Free Church. The rest of the hon. Member's Question refers to matters which the Act leaves entirely to the discretion of the Commissioners, with which I cannot interfere.
