HC Deb 18 April 1907 vol 172 cc1124-5
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

To ask the Secretary of State for India whether the memorial from the Cutchi public of Bombay, urging that the proposed Vizamgam-Malia railway line should pass through the territory of the Rao of Cutch, has now been received and considered; has the Report on the reconnaissance of the two alternative routes yet been received and considered, and if any fresh reconnaissance has been ordered will he state its nature; and will he state when a decision as to the route to be adopted is likely to be arrived at.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) I have nothing to add to the Answer which I gave to a similar Question asked by the hon. Member in December last.† I cannot state when a decision as to the route to be adopted is likely to be arrived at. So far as I am aware there is no intention on the part of the Government of India of proceeding with the construction of the Bombay-Sind connection at present.
