HC Deb 18 April 1907 vol 172 c1129
MR. O'MARA (Kilkenny, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether negotiations for the; sale of the Madden estate, Callan, county Kilkenny, are now proceeding; and, if so, what steps are being taken to reinstate Mr. Richard O'Mahony, an evicted tenant, on this estate; and whether he will consider the expediency of making public the report of Mr. Smyth, the inspector, who inquired into this matter.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners have made inquiries into the application of Richard Mahony. The landlord objects to any interference with the present occupier of the evicted holding, and the Commissioners understand that Mahony already occupies a farm of 112 acres elsewhere. The Comissioners have therefore decided to take no action in the matter. The reports of their inspectors are confidential documents and cannot be published.
