To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state the total cost in the last or preceding financial year of the Departments of the Lord-Lieutenant and the Chief Secretary for Ireland; also the total cost under each of the following heads: Law and Justice, Board of Works, Local Government Board, Education; and the rate per head of the population in each of the five Departments, together with the total cost of Civil Government in Ireland, with the rate per head of the population.

ment. The total of the charges of Civil Government for Ireland in the year 1905–6, as shown on page 12 of House of Commons Paper, No. 278, of 1906, was

£4,746,500, or £1 1s. 7½d. per head of the population.
