HC Deb 15 April 1907 vol 172 c603
*MR. LUPTON (Lincolnshire, Sleaford)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board if it is a practice for medical officers of workhouses to vaccinate every person entering those institutions at all ages, varying from three days up to eighty years; and what was the cost of vaccinations performed in workhouses during the year 1906.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. John Burns,) Battersea

So far as I am aware, there is no such practice as is referred to in the first part of the Question. The cost of vaccination in workhouses is not shown separately in the Returns, and I am not able to state what it is.

MR. LUPTON

Will the right hon. Gentleman make inquiry as to the practice?
