HC Deb 15 April 1907 vol 172 c581
MR. J. MACVEAGH

To ask the Secretary to the Board of Trade whether he is aware that in the examinations for clerkships on the Great Southern and Western Railway one of three languages, Latin, French, or German, is compulsory; and whether, as these subjects are not included in the curriculum of national or primary schools, he will ask the directors whether they will consider the advisability of modifying this regulation, and also of including Irish as one of the subjects which may be taken.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) This is not a matter with which I can interfere.
