HC Deb 11 April 1907 vol 172 cc364-5
DR. RUTHERFORD

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affair whether he is aware that, according to the Report for 1905 of the Egyptian Government inspector, Monsieur Piot Bey, the precautions taken against the importation of diseased cattle into Upper and Lower Egypt are insufficient; and whether proper measures of prevention have been taken or are in contemplation.

SIR EDWARD GREY

I have not seen the Report in question; the only information I have recently received on the subject of cattle plague in Egypt is contained in Section 83 of Lord Cromer's Report for 1906.
