I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the reports from the General Officers Commanding, to which he referred on 11th December, 1906, † in reply to a Question on the subject of the expenses falling on the brigade majors of Volunteer brigades, have been received; and whether he can now see his way to grant adequate allowances to these officers in view of their increased duties and expenses.

MR. HALDANE

The reports have been received, and the whole question is being carefully considered.

MR. CARLILE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say how long the Question will be under consideration
