HC Deb 10 April 1907 vol 172 cc217-8
MR. LEA

I beg to ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, if he is aware that a new process for using the by-products of the sugar-cane, called molascuit, has been recently developed, and that it can be imported and sold at a price to be of considerable advantage both to the British stock feeder and the Colonial sugar-cane grower; and will he take steps to bring this product before the agriculturists in this country by drawing attention to it through the Board's publications.

SIR EDWARD STRACHEY (Somersetshire, S.)

Our attention has been directed to the feeding-stuff to which my hon. friend refers, but we do not see our way to call special attention to it in our publications. It will doubtless be brought to the notice of stockowners through the usual channels.
