To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will state, in parallel columns, for each year from 1st January, 1889, to 31st December, 1906, the number of battleships, coast defence vessels, armoured cruisers, protected cruisers, and destroyers laid down, and the number struck off the list of efficient ships, together with the sum total of each class laid down and struck off during the seventeen years, such period being more or less the life of an armoured vessel.
