§ MR. HADDOCKTo ask the Secretary of State for War what sum has been taken in the Estimates for 1907–8 to meet the increased pay of lieutenant-colonels.
(Answered, by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) A sum of money has been taken in the Estimates to meet this service. I am in communication with the Treasury as to the rate of increase per arm, and I am not yet able to state the exact figures.
