HC Deb 31 October 1906 vol 163 c1091
MR. O'MALLEY (Galway, Connemara)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether trained assistant teachers in the service prior to 1900 can be promoted to second and higher grades with corresponding salaries under ordinary circumstances and without special consideration in the same manner as principal teachers.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Commissioners of National Education inform me that there is no provision in their rules for promoting assistant teachers in the manner indicated in the Question.
