§ MR. SALTERTo ask the Secretary of State for War what course it is proposed to take in regard to the officers and non-commissioned officers of those battalions which are about to be disbanded.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The officers and non-commissioned officers of these battalions will be supernumerary to the establishment of the Army, and will remain on full pay until they can be absorbed in their own or other regiments. I may add that every endeavour will be made to mitigate any injury to officers' prospects entailed by these reductions.
