§ MR. BRIDGEMANI beg to ask the Prime Minister when he will lay upon 719 the Table of the House the Report of the Committee of Inquiry into the self-government proposals sent to the South African Colonies in the summer of this year.
§ THE PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Sir H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN, Stirling Burghs)The mission of the Committee sent to South Africa was essentially of a confidential character, and the Report deals not only with the Transvaal Constitution, but with that of the Orange River Colony. His Majesty's Government do not propose to consider the question of its publication until after the latter Constitution has been determined and declared to Parliament.
