HC Deb 29 October 1906 vol 163 cc681-2
MR. REES (Montgomery Boroughs)

To ask the Secretary of State for India whether the Madras Government proposes to refer the revised Estates Land Bill to district and divisional officers, to public bodies, and to experts before passing into law a measure to which many of those interested entertain strong objections.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) The provisions of the Bill are still under discussion. I have no doubt that it is the intention of the Government of Madras to give all proper facilities for public criticism before the Bill is passed into law.
