FELL (Great Yarmouth)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War how many men were employed by the Government at the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich on the 1st of January last, and how many are employed at the present time; and if the Government propose to make any further alteration in the number of the workmen employed there.
§ MR. HALDANEThe number of men employed in the Ordnance Factories at Woolwich was 14,709 on the 30th December, 1905, and 13,775 on the 20th instant. I am afraid that further discharges will be necessary before the normal establishment of the factories is reached, but I hope that these will not be more than 150 or 200 men.
