HC Deb 29 October 1906 vol 163 cc682-3
MR. DELANY

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can supply a list giving the names and addresses of the evicted tenants in Queen's County, or their representatives, particulars of whose claims have been lodged with the Estates Commissioners; and also the number of those who have been reinstated or got other holdings.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) I am informed by the Estates Commissioners that the number of applications for reinstatement as evicted tenants in Queen's County is 211. The number restored, to the knowledge of the Commissioners, is thirty-nine, including two evicted tenants from whom applications were not received. The Commissioners do not think it feasible to furnish a list giving the names and addresses of applicants. The preparation of such a Return for each of the counties of Ireland would take up a considerable portion of the time of their staff, which is already fully occupied upon its regular duties, and the benefit to be derived from such a Return would be quite incommensurate with the time and labour involved in its compilation.
