MOLTENOI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been directed to the feeling which exists throughout the country in regard to the numerous fatal accidents caused by motor propelled vehicles; and whether His Majesty's Government have in contemplation the introduction of legislation at an early date with a view to restoring to all classes of the community the safe use of the public roads and highways.
§ MR. JOHN BURNSMy right hon. friend has asked me to reply to this Question. The Royal Commission on Motor Cars have in their Report made various recommendations for the amendment of the Motor Car Acts. The recommendations are receiving my consideration, but it is not intended to propose legislation on the subject during the present session.
